Our Commitment to Colorado

As a leading energy company focused solely on producing oil and gas in Colorado’s Denver-Julesburg Basin, Crestone Peak Resources is heavily committed to the communities where we operate, to the broader Colorado community and to society as a whole.

As a team of Colorado-based energy professionals, we recognize our responsibilities in the way we operate and conduct our business. We aim to help make Colorado a better place to live, work and play, with thriving communities across our state and the abundant, affordable energy needed to provide good jobs and power our economy.

We believe in an open, two-way dialogue in which we provide clear information, listen to feedback and are accountable for our actions. Crestone has worked cooperatively with local communities to create tailored operator agreements that reflect our efforts to operate safely, responsibly and with respect for the environment while minimizing the temporary impacts of our operations. These agreements build on our practice of listening and adjusting our operations, when possible, based on the latest technologies, mitigation techniques and industry best practices.

Our Community Relations Commitments

Stewardship of the environment, public health and quality of life for all Coloradans.

Cooperative relationships with state and local governments.
Respect for Colorado communities and their needs, including environmental justice.
Open, transparent communication with stakeholders, including genuine dialogue, prompt responses to questions and speedy resolution of complaints.
Giving back through strategic, high-impact community investment.

Our Commitment to Public Health and Safety

Our approach is to go beyond what is required, to ensure we operate in the safest, most efficient way possible. We are regulated by the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) and work closely with them to ensure our operations remain in compliance with state regulatory requirements. Health and safety are our top priorities, and we’ve built a culture that takes a disciplined approach to maintaining safe environments, proactively identifying and addressing issues and continually training our employees.

In 2020, Crestone was named a ‘Gold Leader’ by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Environmental Leadership Program for our efforts to safeguard public health and the environment while producing energy in Colorado. We’re also active members of API’s The Environmental Partnership, a group of energy companies committed to continuously improving the industry’s environmental performance, and Our Nation’s Energy Future (ONE Future). The ONE Future Coalition is a group of energy companies working together to reduce methane emissions voluntarily across the natural gas value chain to 1% (or less) by 2025.

At Crestone Peak Resources, we strive to be innovators in everything we do, from operations to sustainability to stewardship. In the spirit of innovation, we are engaging with communities near our planned oil and gas locations through a new approach for sharing information, seeking input and fostering dialogue – customized, interactive digital information portals.

Anyone who lives within 2,000 feet of one of our planned oil and gas locations will be invited by mail to view the digital information portal for that location. If you choose to register, you can get information, provide input, obtain “push” notifications and connect with our Community Relations team. Each planned oil and gas location will have its own digital portal; these sites will be updated regularly as new information about our plans becomes available.

Anyone can visit any of these digital portals and provide feedback. Find information on our proposed oil and gas locations below.
